This year's Fall Frenzy will be held November 7, 2009 in the Cajundome Convention Center.
The Fall Frenzy is an annual event that kicks off the application period for all pre-K-12 Schools of Choice.
The event, which is free and open to the public, begins at 9 a.m. and lasts until 1 p.m. It is held in the main exhibit hall of the Cajundome's Convention Center.
Each School of Choice has a compound in the exhibit hall which contains displays of student work, demonstrations by students and hands-on activities for visiting children to enjoy. There is a stage which features student performances and demonstrations.

J.W. Faulk and N.P. Moss are currently working toward an application for permission to be an International Baccalaureate candidate school.
To prepare, we have been training our teachers and administrators in the IB method for two years. Once our application is approved, Faulk will pilot the Primary Years Program (PYP) IB program and Moss will pilot the Middle Years Program in Lafayette Parish. Once IB officials are confident that the faculty is properly trained and the curriculum is being implemented correctly, Lafayette Parish will request official IB status.
All children in Lafayette Parish have the unique opportunity to be a part of this exciting program. As other Schools of Choice in the Parish, students are chosen by random computer lottery.
Families who would like to get in on the ground floor of this opportunity can apply at this year's Fall Frenzy for entrance into our pilot programs beginning Fall 2010.
Preschool Applications
Once again, parents will have the opportunity to apply for our preschool programs online. All families who wish their children to attend a preschool program at a School of Choice (J. Wallace James, French or Spanish Immersion, etc.) should definitely apply online. We will hold a lottery for these slots at the same time as our K-12 lottery.
