The W.D. Smith Career Center enables students to learn job entry skills before high school graduation, or to prepare for additional training at the post-secondary level.
Only one in five jobs available in America's workforce requires a higher education. The courses at the Career Center can prepare students to begin work as soon as they graduate.
Students may take classes in a variety of areas, including:
Business Design: Entrepreneurship; Advertising and Sales Promotion; Retail Marketing.
Occupational Family and Consumer Service: Child Care Service; Fashion Design; Food Service Preparatory; Food Service II.

Health Occupations: Certified Nursing Assistant.
Graphic Arts: Commercial Art; Photography; Television Production.
Trade and Industry: Automotive Technician; Cabinetmaking; Carpentry; Electronics; Outdoor Power Equipment Technician; Plumbing; Welding.
Cooperative Experience: Cooperative Office Education; Cooperative Marketing Education; Cooperative Tourism; Trade & Industry Cooperative Education.
The Career Center also offers classes in cosmetology, with a working spa offering manicures, pedicures, make-up and hair services. Our cosmetology students learn from top-notch instructors and get real-world experience in our spa.

The Academy of Hospitality and Tourism is housed at the Career Center. The Academy, an affiliate of the National Academy Foundation, offers students the knowledge and skills necessary for a career in one of the world's largest industries.
Academic learning experiences combined with hands-on work experiences help students develop the thinking and problem-solving skills they need to succeed in this industry.
