What Alumni are Saying...
"French Immersion is a program that shaped my life. I was enrolled the year it began and my classmates and I quickly became family. Not only were we taught in a wonderful new language, but we learned about our French heritage and connected organically with our culture. I always knew there was something special about us and the way that we were educated. We had an advantage, given our young age, to absorb as much of the language as possible. Due to this advanced learning program, our scholastic achievements often surpassed those of our non-Immersion classmates throughout our academic careers. We were also able to forge a bond of lifetime friendship with those whom we shared this unique experience."

World Language Immersion Pathway
In the World Language Immersion pathway, student education is integrated with a world language. Spanish, French, or Mandarin Chinese are the language pathways currently offered. In the early stages of human development, it is easier to learn another language, and immersion has been proven to be the most effective way to develop bilingualism. Students are taught core subjects - with the exception of English - in the second language. Immersion begins as early as preschool, engaging your child in a more complex and rewarding educational environment, right from the start. Graduates of immersion programs may qualify for Seal of Biliteracy on their high school diploma.
Children who are four or five years old are like sponges; they absorb the world around them, making it easy to learn a second language. In addition to growing up skilled in two languages, these children develop healthier and more complex brain structure. Our immersion programs are growing. We welcome you and your child to join our family language learners!
Students starting Pre-K, Kindergarten, or first grade (based on availability) may apply for the Schools of Choice lottery to enter World Language Immersion. Students with previous language experience may be admitted in later grades. Contact Schools of Choice for more information.
*Students who are currently in Pre-K or 5th grade must apply for lottery by January 31, 2017 to receive pathway priority into Kindergarten or 6th grade.
*Students only receive pathway priority in the same language.
